WNC friends,
This morning (Wednesday), General Convention formally opened. Along with procedural work to convene both the House of Deputies and the House of Bishops, we gathered for the opening Eucharist where Presiding Bishop Katharine preached. It is amazing how an altar and the offering of communion can transform a cavernous convention hall into sacred space.
All our deputies and alternates have now arrived and there are other guests from WNC here, too. Please keep us in your prayers as we begin. This evening, we will hear from Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, in a forum on the Global Economic Crisis.
